We bought a house!

We bought a house!

Just a small, quick but exciting update for the people that read (hi, mum), but can you believe we bought a house?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Apologies for all the punctuation marks – the grammar nerd in me is horrified – but I can barely contain my excitement at this step forward.

The house we have bought is a stunning two bedroom cottage in Preston with a huge front and back garden. It’s off the beaten track and even Nick, who has lived here his whole life, didn’t know this road existed. There are four other houses on the road and it’s very secluded and tucked away. Perfect.

It also needs a great deal of work doing to it, but luckily it’s all cosmetic. The decor hasn’t been updated in about 30 / 40 years and it definitely needs a revamp. We’ve got a growing list of jobs that needs doing and plan on spending as many weekends and weekday evenings as possible there stripping wallpaper, ripping up carpets and painting.

We’re hoping for a February / March move in date! My rent runs out around then so it would be the perfect time of year to get a smooth transition from renting to owning.

I am currently on Pinterest every free second of my day looking for ideas, saving colour palettes and hoarding DIY ideas to really make this house have an incredible cottage, rustic feel to it. I cannot wait to get it looking exactly as we want it.

Now to get soppy for a minute, we’ve been through a rough time. This house marks the start of everything we have ever wanted together – part of me cannot actually believe we are here. It’s the start of our future. And I am damn excited for it to start.

With all that in mind, thank you for reading my super quick life update. And I’ll leave you with this image to show you what we are currently dealing with!

    • Please do some moving/interiors posts! If you want to, of course! I love seeing people’s homes and the way they decorate 🙂 I shall be trying to do some as we go through the process of ripping out what’s inside and making it our own. It’s going to be a bit of a rollercoaster! x

  • This is so exciting! I’m so happy for you – and proud of you. Buying a house is quite a feat and nothing to be sneezed at. Well done! I can’t wait to see what you do with your new place 🙂 Roll on February or March!

    • Aww thank you so much! That’s so sweet of you to say 🙂 The house is really starting to come together now. I’m literally documenting every stage of ripping it out and I’ve never been more excited to start decorating 🙂 xx
